Chef Karl’s Summer Boil went down last Wednesday, August 21st, at the Handlery Hotel. He had so much fun last time he decided to do it again before summer ended! This event always delivers a bounty of food, really good beer and great times by the pool.
For $25 you got 3/4 of a pound of crawfish, 1/2 pound of shrimp, 1/2 pound of spicy andouille sausage, steamed red potatoes and corn on the cob. Cooked in the chef’s own spicy boil, everything was flavorful with an extra kick. Add to that your first Hess Brewing craft beer and you have an incredible value for the entrance fee. Hess had Claritas and Habitus on tap and both went great with the hot evening and the delicious crawfish.
Good times are always had hanging around the pool at the Handlery, if you haven’t spent some time there you should get to that soon. It’s with a heavy heart that I tell you that there may not be any more craft beer events at this awesome hotel. Due to unknown reasons, they have canceled everything on the calendar. I have always bragged that the Handlery Hotel put on some of the best events in the craft beer world; hopefully you attended some and know what I’m talking about. They will still host any private events but aren’t planning on running their own for the foreseeable future.
I held both of my Sore Eye Cup events there, the judging and award party. They are incredibly easy to work with, provide an amazing value for your dollar, manage and run events professionally, and are good people to boot. I highly encourage you to consider them for your event; from conventions to private small parties, The Handlery Hotel has got you covered!
